NOTHING LEFT
2012
One morning bold,
in sunrise gold,
a gap, a void,
when daylight toyed
The gap was wide,
she took my pride
She took the best,
God, let me rest
She's on my mind,
I'm running blind
She left for real,
on spinning wheel
I lost my sense,
without defense
She was my pet,
my red Corvette

She's on my mind,
I'm running blind
She left for real,
on spinning wheel
We met in spring,
she wore no ring
Oh, and the look,
she gave and took
She was so sweet,
even when heat,
took her along,
she sparkled strong
Almost my wife,
we shared a life
We had it all,
and that's a ball
I swore to be,
the best of me,
and walk a mile,
to get her smile
